Our Philosophy

At the heart of Sunrise Montessori, we hold a genuine faith in our children. We value their innate curiosity and desire to learn. Our commitment to create a child-oriented environment allows children to embrace their independence and responsibility to learn. Children make decisions in the classroom based on knowledge of their own interests and capabilities. We believe education can be effective when children are accountable to themselves, others, and their environment.

Sunrise Montessori provides an integrated curriculum in a mixed-age setting. The mixed-age environment engages children in socialization and solidarity. Young children see the older as a role model while the older children take a role in leadership. Teachers at Sunrise Montessori fully honor each individual with their own potential, and we follow the children. We are mindful observers who support children meeting their developing needs. We aim to fulfill the fullest possible development of the child. We engage children to absorb a second language naturally. We inspire children to embrace Eastern and Western cultures that integrate the world around them. Our goal is for our children to enjoy these life-long skills of early bilingualism.

Sunrise Montessori provides a toddler program, preschool program, and kindergarten program: a Chinese immersion program for toddler children from 1.5 years old to 2.9 years old and Chinese and English bilingual preschool programs for children from ages 2.9 to 5 years old as well as a bilingual kindergarten program for kids aged 5 and 6.
