Sunrise Montessori School offers a bilingual English/Mandarin Montessori education for children from infancy through kindergarten. We are committed to creating a learning environment that supports the whole child’s growth and development. Sunrise Montessori School is on the path to seeking AMS accreditation.

A dedicated Toddler Montessori Teacher with a passion for guiding and nurturing young children between the ages of 18 months and 3 years. Possessing a deep love and patience for children, the role involves providing a supportive and engaging learning environment. Key qualifications include a strong understanding of engaging toddlers, fostering trust and attention. The primary aim is to promote healthy mental and emotional development, supporting children in their unique developmental journeys. Collaboration with the lead classroom teacher and Early Childhood Program Director ensures students receive the necessary support and tools for their growth, fostering a community of young learners who are enthusiastic about exploring and discovering new things

This full-time academic year position starts August 26, 2024, with the hours of Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with the flexibility to work on the occasional evening and weekend. 

Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable about Montessori philosophy

  • Develop a careful and creative program suitable for infant/toddler children

  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children

  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem

  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments

  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum.

  • Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times

  • Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche

  • Collaborate with other educators

  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; master’s degree is preferable.

  • AMS Certificate preferred.

  • Understanding of and commitment to Montessori Philosophy

  • Commitment to professional development and best practices in education

  • Commitment to meeting the needs of each student.

  • Commitment to be calm and positive all the time in the classroom.

  • MA EEC teacher certification preferred but not required.

  • CPR/First Aid Certification required
